I'll have more to write about ACU Summit and my trip to Abilene later.
I'm preaching on spiritual disciplines this week and I'm curious, what are the disciplines/practices that sustain you in your faith journey?

PS Loved hanging with you this week.
morning devotionals, christian music, wednesday night summit, 40 days of prayer, week long prayer vigils. i want there to be more; i want my day to be a conversation with God. i am safe when i am with Him, so why do i not spend all my time with Him? where is my discipline? looking forward to hearing you sunday. thank you for being in the hands of the potter and sharing what you learn.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, let me just say that Sycamore View is blessed to have you, Josh! I think for me, the spiritual discipline that works best, and feeds my soul the most, is prayer coupled with time spent in community. I have a strong desire to really live into the destiny God has for me, and I realize that it is going to take time for Him to allow me to really grow into it and learn to stand on Him as I come into it, and prayer, I believe, is the number one ingredient to allow my destiny to fully be embraced and entered into. Bless you! I know Kayci, Truitt, and Noah are glad to have Daddy home :)
ReplyDeleteJosh,
ReplyDeleteThe last chapter of your book is very inspiring. You open up "the disciplines" in a very exciting, formative way.
Lisa,
You used the word "more." That's huge! There is something in us crying out for "more".
Lauren,
Time with you the other day was rich. Thanks for praying over me and my family. It meant a lot.
