Micah Pate

Please pray for Micah Pate. She is a 25-year-old married woman who went missing last night around 8:30. I was out with friends until 5:00 this morning searching every park and street in her surrounding neighborhood. We are crying out to God to do something here. Please join us.

UPDATE: Micah Pate was found dead tonight around 8:00 by a gunshot wound. We continue to pray.

  4. Is this young lady the granddaughter of Jerry and Delores Pittman from Proctorville, Ohio. We have been friends of the family for years but have not been in touch for some time. My daughter who still lives in the Proctorville area told me of Micah's disappearance. Please let Jerry and Delores know that we are praying for her return and for peace for the family. I would like to get in touch with them and if that would be OK with the family please have someone contact me at patjoyhome@vnet.net with contact information. I would like to give it to my father, Richard Kelley, who was the preacher at Rome for some time and I know would like to be in touch with Jerry and Delores at this time. Thank you and God bless, Joyce Kelley Smith

  10. Josh - Thank you for putting me in touch with the Pittman family. I'm heartbroken that the news is so sad. We will continue to pray for Micha's family and will be in touch with them directly.

My heart is torn in reaction to allegations currently being made relative to her death. However, I know what my Lord would want me to do. Please let the Pate family know that friends of Micah's family are remembering them in prayer.

    Thank you and God bless.

  13. My name is Timothy Moad, I'm 16 years old and Live In Gosford Australia, Micah came out for a mission trip to our church several years ago and stayed with my family. While she was here she greatly contributed to the growth of the family and touched the hearts of many people and has never been forgotten, as such our family and church found out about her disappearance and passing very quickly. The Gosford church are praying and will continue to pray for Micah and her family. The only comfort that we can take from this is that she's now safe in the arms of God.

    RIP Micah.

  14. Praying for the Rhine family and the Pate family. I grew up with the Pates and know the entire family very well. My heart hurts and I pray for sensitivity from the public and media as the pate family is grieving.

  15. Could someone please tell where was God when all the praying was going on. I am not trying to be sarcastic, but stuff like this really makes me wonder.

  16. In response to Anonymous regarding where God was during this tragedy - all I can tell you is that he was right there with both Micah and Thomas. God does not treat us like puppets. He has given us free will to make the choices that affect our lives, sometimes forever. Why does all of this happen. That question I can't answer. I only know that without pain and suffering in our lives we would reach the point that we would forget about God. That's just human nature. I'm not saying we totally forget him during the good times in our lives. Hopefully we are thanking him for the blessings he has given to us at those times when everything around us is good.

God loves us. He does not want to see us in pain but he never promised a pain free life, even for his children. God is good. He does not CAUSE any of this tragedy to occur. Satan is the one who is working every day, every hour, every minute to secure as many souls as he can and to make us choose those things that are wrong.

Why did Thomas choose to end Micah's life if that's the case? If not, why did a terrible accident that will also haunt him for the remainder of his days occur? Only God and Thomas have those answers. We may never know and we don't have to know in order to pray for him that he will seek forgiveness both from God and from those whom he loves.

One day this tragedy will end. Those of us who follow God's precepts will be with Micah in the home prepared for us by our Savior. I don't know about you, but that home will be worth anything that we have to endure for the short time we are on this earth.

    God Bless,
    Joyce Smith aka Mimmy

  17. anonymous- we dont pray only for God to remove the trials, but that He will guide us THROUGH the trials. Humans are free to choose whatever they want to do in this life and often that freedom causes others pain. Your question has a very easy answer- God was here the whole time, whether you realize it or not.

  18. Anonymous,
I just saw your post and hate to leave without at least attempting to give you a brief answer. Your question has been asked by some of the greatest of Bible hero's such as Job and David. There is no easy answer except to say that in This Present Age God has allowed evil to exist. There is coming a day in The Age to Come when all evil will be completely destroyed. This is why the early Christians prayed, "Maranatha" or "Lord, Come". Our hope is not in having things go right in This Age; rather our hope is in the resurrection of the dead. Jesus himself was not exempt from some of the terrible things that happen in This Age. Early believers understood this and thus faithfully endured all kinds of mistreatment. In this age we must bear the cross of suffering -- but our hope in in the resurrection when we will truly be done with with all sin and it's horrible consequences. Maranatha!

  19. I'm sure God was standing by allowing His children to make their choice to follow the path of sin that can so easily entangle all of us. God made us creatures of choice, and unfortunately in our human wisdom we do not make the decision that God would have us make. Our human failures do not make God any less God. So, where was God? I understand why you ask that question, and there have been times I have asked myself the same thing. Where he is...He is in heaven wanting so much for each person to run to His arms where He can give us His direction for each day of our lives so that we can live for His glory and His honor. I did not know Micah, but my heart is broken for her family. You are all in my prayers. She is in the arms of a loving God right now. I understand that she served God with all of her heart, and she touched many people with her life.

  22. Wow, what a blessing just to read these comments. It is wonderfully refreshing and reassuring to see that there are still so many steadfast, faithful Christians in this "world of woe".
Until He comes, remain faithful. God is faithful. TG
